Bigla set to take on the Ronde van Vlaanderen

Bigla is excited to be lining up at the 16th edition of the Ronde van Vlaanderen. The 159.2km-long route features ten hellingen and four cobbled sectors, with the iconic duo, the Oude Kwaremont and Paterberg coming in the closing stages of the race. The race commences in Antwerp and the first cobbled sectors appear not long afterwards, with the Lange Munte coming after only 10km of racing after departing from Oudenaarde. This is followed by the Lippenhovenstraat and Paddestraat. After around 55km in the legs, the riders will then take on a series of five climbs in quick succession, followed by hilly terrain until the next five climbs. The final ascent of the day, the Paterberg, is only around 350m in length, but is very steep, with an average gradient of 13 percent, which ramps up to 20 percent in some sections. The final 13km heading into the finish in Oudenaarde are flat.

The riders who will take to the Belgian one-day classic for the team are:

  • Martina Alzini
  • Mikayla Harvey
  • Julie Leth
  • Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig
  • Maria Vittoria Sperotto
  • Leah Thomas
