Endura press ride in Richmond Park
Following the completion of the OVO Women’s Tour last Sunday, the Cervélo Bigla Pro Cycling Team partook in a ride in Richmond Park on Monday with clothing partner Endura and guests.
The day offered the opportunity to reveal insight into the valuable partnership. Endura supplies the team with the best technology in the sport which includes the time trial speedsuit developed with aerodynamicist Simon Smart. Among other results, the technology has guided the team onto the podium of the World Championships in the team time trial discipline.
“Endura place a lot of emphasis on making sure they develop a world-class women’s range and it’s great to be part of that development,” Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio said at the event.
“They share a passion for women’s cycling and that’s wonderful. It’s great to collaborate with people who have the same passion and desire. They give us the same attention and detail as they do for the male professionals. The technology of the TT suit is incredible. It was introduced to us when the partnership started and having put it to the test for a while now it really is exciting to have a partner who believes in our potential and develop products at the highest level to support that potential.”
Michelle O’Connor, Endura’s head of garment technology was in attendance. “We research the fabrics and look at the weight and stretch of the fabrics,” she said speaking of the support they give the team. “Then we create a fit based on the women’s garments that we produce and tailor it exactly for the girls. We’ve had the girls at the Endura headquarters for fittings before. The Encapsulator TT suit has had over 80 different versions with different tester fabrics, trying to get the fastest suit. It’s constantly evolving as we keep developing our technology.”
