Gracia Orlova Ends With Schweizer in Top Ten
The Gracia Orlova race culminated in Czech Republic on Sunday with The Bigla Pro Cycling Team placing a rider in the top ten on the stage and on the general classification. Lotta Lepistö was the team's best finisher in sixth on the stage while Doris Schweizer maintained eight in the overall classification.
Before the race, the team management said the race was about one of the fundamentals the team is built on: development of young talent. The team started with an average age of 23.
The race was dominated by Velocio-SRAM with the team's Alena Amialiusik winning the overall and Elise Delzenne the last stage.
I think everyone learnt a lot on this tour. We made some mistakes but we also had some good things of course which we will also learn from.
I am little put disappointed about today. The many days of racing affected the team and unfortunately Nicole [Hanselmann] had a crash also during the race. I had to go in many breakaways and couldn't save my legs completely for the sprint. I lost my 'last kick' too early on the road but I am happy that everyone tried their best and tried to help as much they could. I am happy that I could go in these breakaways and do a good race.
