Mikayla Harvey takes out the individual time trial at Tour de Bretagne Féminin
Today the Tour de Bretagne Féminin continued with an individual time trial, which led the riders over 10.5km around the city of Pledran. At the end of the day, Mikayla Harvey, our young rider from New Zealand, won the race against the clock with a superb ride.
Mikayla reported: “It was a relatively short time trial, at only about 10km, however the weather conditions were bad. There were strong winds and it rained the entire day. I really went full gas on the parcours and in the end I was able to take the win. I still can’t believe it. Time trialling is my favourite discipline and our Team Manager Thomas motivated me the whole time. I wanted to get a good result, but I never expected to win. I’m unbelievably happy!”
Team Manager, Thomas Campana, said about the performance of the team after the race: "The time trial was challenging, as we had winds up to 50km/h but the team did really well. We have three riders in the top-20 and a stage win with Mikayla, our youngest rider. This result is evidence of the talent in our team. Unfortunately, Cecilie had a mechanical and therefore lost about half a minute in the general classification, but all in all, it was a good day for the team.”
