One of the most prestigious races on the calendar kicks off this week in England. The fifth edition of the OVO Energy Women’s Tour will take place from 13 – 17 June.

The Cervélo Bigla Pro Cycling Team has enjoyed success at the race in the past, in the form of stage wins and podiums.

Lotta Lepistö who won the final stage in 2016 makes a welcome return to racing. Clara Koppenburg also forms part of the lineup after an impressive time trial in Slovenia this past weekend.

“The OVO Energy Women’s Tour is always a hard race and comes roughly 10 – 15 days before the national championships which means it’s an important test for us to start the second part of the season. It’s a great test for the riders who had an illness during the Spring campaign to measure where they are at, build the form and the confidence for the second part of the season,” Team manager, Thomas Campana said.

The race will be the perfect form test and form-builder with the great distances it offers. The longest stage is stage 3, from Atherstone to Royal Leamington Spa over 150.4 kilometres. Daily highlights will be available on ITV4 every evening while the official hashtag is #OVOWT
