Moolman-Pasio On The Attack In Le Samyn des Dames
The Bigla Pro Cycling Team continued it's racing program in Belgium on Wednesday when it took part in Le Samyn des Dames. Chantal Blaak (Boels-Dolmans) came out the victor at the Dutch team continued its great start to the 2015 season.
The race started really fast as the peloton was strung out, forming several splits on the road. Things then settled down before the finishing circuit as the race regrouped. The Bigla Pro Cycling Team had misfortune early in the race when Doris Schweizer quit dew to illness and Shelley Olds crashed after 30 kilometres of racing. She was not seriously hurt though and soon returned to the lead group.
Instead of waiting for a sprint, several teams tried to take racing to the dominating Boels-Dolmans outfit and attacked last time around the circuit. Having finished second in the race last year, Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio represented BPCT in the move along with defending champion Emma Johansson (Orica-AIS), Anna Van Der Breggen (Raboliv), Megan Guarnier (Boels-Dolmans), Amy Pieters (Team Liv-Plantur) and Chloe Hosking (Wiggle-Honda). The move looked to be the winning one when they reached a maximum gap for just over a minute.
However, the move was nullified inside the last 3 kilometres and the race was set for a sprint. Next up on the calendar for BPCT is the inaugural Strade Bianche.

The team is racing better every day and that's the most important. Today Ashleigh was very strong being in the good move of the day and when the bunch caught them close to the line, she was still able to finish 6th. Shelley crashed when the group started to split and she lost a lot of energy to come back to the first group and have a chance.
