Rückkehr zum Rennsport in Italien und Belgien
The Bigla Pro Cycling Team will be racing on two fronts on Sunday 29 March as it takes on both Trofeo Alfredo Binda Comune di Cittiglio and Gent-Wevelgem In Flanders Fields. Trofeo Binda is next in the UCI World Cup series of races and a strong line up can be expected at the start. The Italian race is hilly and one that will favour the climbers.
BPCT will feature: Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio, Annemiek Van Vleuten, Clara Koppenburg, Joëlle Numainville, Doris Schweizer and Sharon Laws. Laws returns to racing after breaking her collarbone in the Tour of Qatar while Scheizer also makes her comeback after a bout of illness. The race will also be the first of the season for 19 year old, Koppenburg.
For Gent-Wevelgem, the line up will includes Iris Slappendel, Lotta Lepistö, Vera Koedooder, Emilie Aubry, Nicole Hanselmann and Lisa Klein. Koedooder will make her comeback to racing after a knee injury has kept her on the sidelines for the past few weeks.
Shelley Olds unfortunately won't feature this weekend as she recovers from fractures ribs.
Sports Director, Manel Lacambra says, "I think we will bring two competitive teams to both races. With this double program we will be able to have one mix of experienced riders as well as young riders. We will look for our chances and we will give everything until the finish line. We will also have our three riders Doris, Vera and Sharon returning to our roster after injury and illness."
