Dwars door de Westhoek – Another Top Ten For Olds
Shelley Olds followed up her podium position the day before in Omloop van Borsele with another top ten in Dwars door de Westhoek on Sunday. The American was part of a reduced peloton who was sprinting for second place after the race was won by Elise Delzenne (Velocio-SRAM) in a solo attack.
After numerous unsuccessful attacks from the peloton, Delzenne was the one to get a gap with 30 kilometres to go. The gap immediately grew out to over a minute. Lotta Lepisto was also part of what was left of the peloton coming to the line and finished 12th for BPCT.

It was a hard race with cobbles, short hard climbs and raining. The team was pretty good being in all the important moves and we let one rider go. She got a gap solo after counter attacking from a move that Iris Slappendel was in. We did our best but we did not have enough numbers at the front. Then everyone was leaving the responsibility to Wiggle Honda and Hitec to close the gap and they didn't have the power to close it. The final sprint was technical with wet cobbles and Shelley finished seventh.
