Endura – official supplier to national champions
Based in Scotland, cycling apparel company Endura, is the official supplier to Cervélo Bigla Pro Cycling Team. Last week saw Endura celebrate with the team on the way to winning five national titles.
The result means garment technicians in Scotland are busy working on unveiling the new look kit ahead of the team lining up in the Giro Rosa this weekend.
The road kit features Endura’s proprietary Silicone Surface Topography (SST) which is a showcase for British innovation. SST has been developed with aerodynamicist Simon Smart, who has based his Drag2Zero operation in the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 wind tunnel in Brackley, Northamptonshire.
“To have riders from across Europe winning national titles in clothing handmade in Scotland underlines the standards of our production team here in Livingston,” Brand Director Pamela Barclay said. “Our designers and garment technicians have a busy week ahead, creating custom garments for our new national champions.
“Some 50,000 custom garments are made by hand at our headquarters in Scotland each year, but it’s fair to say that those worn by our national champions have the highest profile. We couldn’t be more proud.”
Lotta Lepistö successfully defended her road title in Finland while Lisa Klein (Germany) and Nicole Hanslemann (Switzerland) became elite champions for the first time in their careers.
The team also boasts three national titles in the time trial discipline. Adding to Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio’s victory in South Africa earlier this year, Lepistö and Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig (Denmark) wore the Encapsulator time trial suit, with integrated dossard pocket on the way to victory last week.
