Bigla Pro Cycling Team will line up in Premondiale Giro Toscana Int. Femminile - Memorial Michela Fanini from Friday - Sunday this weekend. The three-stage race includes a prologue of 2.22 kilometres, followed by stage 1 over 133,6km and the final stage from Lucca to Capannori over 96,3km.

For many, the race is the final preparation before for the UCI World Championships in Richmond. Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio initially has this to say leading up to the race but unfortunately the South African has had to withdraw after experiencing food poisening.

"I’ve had some good training in the mountains at altitude. We decided that Toscana would be a good opportunity to test the legs out. It’s the final race before Worlds champs and the course seems great. It’s not a long tour, two days and a prologue is perfect preparation and one of the days is a bit longer at 133km’s. I’m looking forward to going and testing the legs out. There should be good weather and there’s some climbing in the racing so looking forward to seeing where I am at before world’s," the South African champion concluded.

Lotta Lepistö will start the race after a season break. "I am happy to be back racing. I was tired after Norway and Sweden, so I took some time out for a training block. It's really nice to see some of my teammates but unfortunately some riders got sick and are not able to come race with us. I am looking forward to ride the evening prologue tonight. I think it's going to be a huge lactate pump for my legs. Its good to have some racing before worlds."
