New signing for Bigla with Niamh Fisher-Black
Bigla is pleased to announce that Niamh Fisher-Black has joined the team. The New Zealand rider will take part in her first race in the Bigla colours at the Giro delle Marche. After numerous successes in the New Zealand racing scene, she took part in her first European race in 2018 at the Watersley Ladies Challenge. She was also a member of the junior national team at the World Championships in the same year, and was selected as New Zealand Junior rider of the year in 2018. At the U23/Elite New Zealand Championships 2019, she took fourth place, while also finishing second in the young rider classification at the Santos Women’s Tour Down Under.
Niamh’s strengths lie in hilly terrain and demanding one-day races. Discussing her decision to join Bigla, she remarks: “The team has a very professional set-up and has demonstrated success in the development of young riders. I’m looking forward to being part of such a dynamic team. I think Bigla offers the optimum environment in which I can further develop as a rider, and I feel ready to make this progression. This is a team which continuously strives to support its riders to reach their goals. It is also a close-knit team which displays fantastic team spirit and I think this is one of the keys to success. I’m sure I will gain a lot from my teammates and I’m convinced that Bigla is a good fit. I’m looking forward to supporting the team and also gaining new experiences.”
