Shelley Olds lead the Bigla Pro Cycling Team home in sixth during the second stage of Tour of Chongming Island after sprinting to sixth. Kirsten Wild (Hitec-Products) won for the second day in a row, ahead of Roxane Fournier (Poitou-Charentes Futuroscope 86) and Giorgia Bronzini (Wiggle-Honda).
After the stage, Finnish champion Lotta Lepistö said "The result isn't what we wanted but that's cycling. Tomorrow we will fight for the win again." Her sentiments were echoed by Sports Director, Manel Lacambra. "Things don't always go according to plan. We had a plan at the beginning of the day and we didn't execute it as well as we hoped but we know tomorrow is another day and things turn around very quickly in cycling."
The day ended up in a bunch sprint as it typical for the race. Olds slipped down to third on the general classification. She trails leader Wild by 16 seconds and sits one second behind Bronzini. The team suffered more misfortune as Nicole Hanselmann was involved in a crash but luckily the Swiss rider was able to finish and will be assessed tomorrow.
